My Sweet Rescue Pups
I have a soft spot for rescue dogs, and senior rescues especially.

My first rescue was Fiona. She was a Miniature Schnauzer puppy mill mama, and she never really got over that trauma. But I loved her so much, and she loved me.

Scruffy and Sammy came next; they were both senior Miniature Schnauzers, too.

Scruffy looked like he was made of spare parts, but you’ve never seen a happier dog. He was mostly deaf, so he had no idea how loud he was when he barked hello to humans, LOL.

I was lucky to love Sammy for seven years. He was my heart dog, and I still miss him every day.

I adopted Jack, a 13-year-old Dachshund, in 2023. Now almost 16, he’s still happy for (slow!) daily walks, and he loves burrowing in warm cozy blankets or curling up on my lap.
